Our client, an excellent local employer, is looking for an experienced Technical Architect to ensure that their IT infrastructure is architected and designed to meet both business and customer needs. You will be expected to act as a lead in the development of the strategic technical architecture and define system evolution plans and to participate in the delivery and implementation of both in-house and external solutions throughout the project lifecycle to ensure solutions are compliant with the design and are fit-for-purpose. Our client, part of a large group, is looking for an experienced Technical Engineer to provide customer support on a highly functional and technical level and to ultimately drive complete and total solution delivery and resolution of customer problems. You must be able to install and administer Oracle databases; have SQL and PL/SQL skills; have Shell Scripting skills; be able to support UNIX systems and be able to support networks (understanding Routers, Switches and Protocols). This role will involve a lot of travel to customer sites both in the UK and abroad.
